Visual for filtering data with multiple keywords

Hi All

I need a visual where users can write multiple keywords to filter data. In my case, I would need to filter with AND operation, meaning that all rows that include any of the keywords are shown.

I have tried Microsoft's Text Filter visual. That visual does not searching with multiple keywords.

appriciate your assistance.

Try the NEW text slicer. It actually does that. Sort of.

Hi @tanehome1

I agree with @lbendlin  comments. You can use new Text slicer as it's a default vaisual.  Please follow below steps.

  1. Let's say you have to search the key words like "Book, Pencils and White" Refer below snapshot suparnababu8_0-1738557560709.png

  2. Now I will search those key words in text slicer. You will be able to see all values related to these key words will be filtered as shown in below snapshot.

  4. So if you want to search multiple values you have to turn on one option under formatting settings is Accept Multiple Values under slicer settings. Pls refere below snapshot

Additional Tip: Still it's in preview stage. So, Don't use this in your Production environments until and unless it has GA announcemnet.

I hope now you are clear.

thank you for reply, sorry for my mistake as i need to search the multiple words with "AND" not "OR" and i write "OR" by mistake

actually new text slicer is great but it seems it using "OR" and no option to change it.

is there a way to change it to search with "AND"?

It's allegedly on their roadmap for future features.

Use the Advanced Filter in the filter pane if you want to do this now. You can have more than two conditions there too.

I think we have differing opinions on what "user friendly"  means.  Make sure to test with your real world users.
