Hi, I need help with writing a DAX for a calculated column, but before that let me give you some information to understand the logic better. I am creating a report for one of the projects for my company and I have created a table in which I have added columns from different tables, every table has its relationship with each other as they have the common column "Equipment Number" except one table which is CABN, this CABN table is sharing relationship with a table called AUSP having a common column ATINN, please note AUSP does have "Equipment number" as a column.
AUSP has two columns 1) Next Classification, which has four values let's say A, B, C, and D, this is a calculated column, and 2) System Date, which has values as random dates.
CABN has one column as Classifications which has the same common values as the Next Classification column i.e. A, B, C, D, and some other values as well, please note here since Next Classification and Classifications have common values this doesn't mean they are corresponding to each other.
Now, coming to the logic what I'm trying to get is the System Date for the Next Classification in a new column, if Next Classification = A then return System Date for Classification = A else if Next Classification = B then return System Date for Classification = B. Similarly, if Next Classification = C then return System Date for Classification = C else if Next Classification = D then return System Date for Classification = D.
This is what I'm trying to achieve, I would be grateful if anyone in the forum could help me out with it as I'm new to Power BI and I'm not familiar with a lot of functions and I've been stuck with this problem for the past two days. I request the forum to please share their suggestions.
