Question on a function in BI that may or may not exist

Hello all,

I have some survey data, that came with some open ended comments.

I bucketed these comments into themes and then created a bar chart based on those themes:

Is there any way to make it where if I click on a theme, it can take me/show me all the comments related to that theme?

Regards!

try to add a dimensional table with two columns, comments and theme. The comments shall be unique. And the create a slicer with the theme column.

Hi @e175429
I think the most elegant ways to achieve the desired effect will be by using drill through and/or custom tooltip.
In both cases, you would create e.g. a table with indivudual comments, to which you could navigate from the selected theme.

You can read about this topics e.g. here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-drillthrough
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-tooltips?tabs=powerbi-desktop

Let me know if you like this solution but need more guidance.

Good luck with your reporting!

Hi @e175429 ,

Could you please provide some sample data? Also, how do you want to show comments with the same topic?

For example.

When I selected "Like" theme, comments with same theme will show in card.

Hello,

HERE is a sample of my data. I don't know how to upload .pbix files to here so I left it in excel. When it's put in to BI this is what it looks like:

Hi @e175429 ,

I can't open the file you provided, it shows that I don't have permission. From your screenshot, if the column marked in red is the comment content, you can put it in a multi-row card. When you select a theme in the bar chart, comments are automatically filtered.
