"You have reached the maximum number of databases allowed at this time."

Just got the message below after trying to create a new SQL database.

Anyone have information on what the limits are or how the limit is applied? (per user, per capacity, per tenant, etc.) Didn't see anything about this in the documentation either.

Hi @djurecicK2 - The limit is 1.5x your capacity - if you have an F2 then it is 3 databases, F64 would be 96 databases, etc. This is a temporary limitation that is scheduled to be removed by the end of next week.

Updated 2/5 to reflect delay in deployment completion from 2/7 to 2/14.

Hello @djurecicK2

not official doc but similar discussion here:

Microsoft Fabric does enforce a 1,000-item limit per workspace, encompassing all Fabric and Power BI artifacts, including SQL databases, reports, datasets, lakehouses, and other items. This limit applies regardless of item type, and mixing workloads reduces the available capacity for specific components.

Hope this is helpful. If yes please accept the answer

Hi @nilendraFabric ,

I appreciate the response, but that is not the case here. There are only a few items in the workspace.

Since part of the message is "A higher number of databases will be available in the coming weeks" it seems like this limitation is related to the preview status of Fabric SQL db.
